This bouquet of white and purple peonies began for me as a memory of that moment when a room suddenly feels brighter just because someone puts flowers on the table. I wanted the canvas to hold that same quiet miracle: petals opening in waves of cream, lilac and deep plum, leaning into each other, almost too many for one vase.
